Health & Safety COVID-19

Hello FBCS family,  March 20, 2020

As we continue to learn more about the COVID-19 virus and practice physical distancing, we want to remain healthy and yet connected to each other at the same time. Our 2019 Annual Report and financial reports are attached to this email for your reference.
For the foreseeable future, church building access and activities are closed to the public because of the pandemic. But just because the building is closed, it does not mean we stop being the church. So during this time of separation from physically meeting together, we will be meeting together through our website and Facebook page.
Each Sunday, and at times throughout the week, we will be going “live” on Facebook and posting to our website (www.fbcseville.com). Services, devotionals, and the like will be shared through those 2 main online avenues. In addition, for those not regularly online or on Facebook, we will keep you informed through regular email communications.
In order to keep the ministries of the church running, we have made provision for you all to present your tithe/offering via the use of offering envelopes that many of you have received through the mail already. We are also working on an online option should you prefer to give your offering online. More information on that will be available at a later time.
I know many of us are wondering when this will pass, and may even be experiencing some anxiety as each day seems to bring more bad news than good. But one thing for us to remember is that Jesus is our peace (Eph. 2:14). In the midst of this separation, we need to remember and allow ourselves to be encouraged by the fact that we are joined together as a holy temple unto the Lord with Jesus as the Chief Cornerstone (2:20-22). So this is an opportunity for the church (us), to live out our faith in Jesus and reach out to others who may be feeling the same anxiety.
So I encourage you, take heart and trust the Lord. He will bring us through this season and be with us every step of the way. Please reach out to friends and family who may need this same encouragement and invite them to ‘come to church with you’ online beginning this Sunday.

Please call us if you need anything, we will trust the Lord to help us all help each other in any way we can.

Blessings of peace, comfort, and strength in the Lord Jesus,
~Pastor Benjamin

Dear FBCS Family, March 12, 2020

The Lord is with us, we will not be afraid. The health and safety of congregation and community is of great priority.  We want to share the steps and procedures we are taking to keep everyone safe and how we will continue to serve Jesus with our mission and our congregation over the next few weeks. Each community has a limited number of resources at this time. Together, we can slow the spread of the COVID-19 by keeping people from gathering too closely or with those who may not be able to fight off coronavirus. When we do this it gives our hospital system time to care for those in immediate need and time to get all the resources they need. The strategy of the CDC is not based on fear or an overreaction. It’s just the mathematics of helping people. Soap beats coronavirus and love already beat fear. Here is a picture.

In the interest of public health and safety, First Baptist Church of Seville is taking the following measures:

  • Creating a plan supporting the Body of Christ gathering for fellowship in safe and meaningful ways.
  • Designing methods for caring for congregants and community.
  • Continuing in obedience with the mission of magnifying God by making and developing committed Christians.

We encourage you to look to the Lord Jesus first while you take care of others. In our community, we can do so much more than we can do on our own. We’re planning for a wonderful Sunday of Worship. More information to come to you via email and through this website. For now, know that I love you and that I’m praying for you.

Safety Essentials provided to you from our beloved Ms. Amy!

  • Drink lots of water
  • Take your vitamins
  • WASH your hands often and for at least 20 seconds. The actual friction of rubbing your hands together while washing them is what removes pathogens.
  • Cover your cough ALWAYS
  • Do not leave your house if you are sick (fever, chills, coughing)
  • It’s not too late for your flu vaccine!!
  • Are you prepared to be quarantined in your home? Should have basic hygiene items and food with longer shelf life. Bottled water, canned soups, bread (can be frozen).
  • Do you need your prescription medications refilled now?
  • Bleach wipes/disinfectant. Commonly touched surfaces should be disinfected often.

Again, I’m encouraging you to look deeping into the Word of God and spend time with the Lord Jesus first while you take care of others. In our community, we can do so much more together than we can do on our own. We will update you soon with Sunday’s Worship Service Plans. More information to come to you via email and through this website. For now, know that I love you and that I’m praying for you.

With Love,

Pastor Benjamin Payne

Oh, the overwhelming, never-ending, precious love of God. It chases me down, fights ’til I’m found, leaves the 99. I couldn’t earn it, I don’t deserve it, still, You give Yourself away. Oh, the overwhelming, never-ending, precious love of God.
