Holy Week 2020

Grace and Peace FBCS family,

I trust this letter finds you safe and well at home. Please remember one another in prayer, and check the church prayer list often so you can remain current on the needs of our church family. If you aren’t on our church email/prayer list, please let us know by sending us an email to Shannon@fbcseville.com. All requests are kept confidential and treated with the utmost discretion.

This has been a very challenging season for all of us. The cancellations of our regular church activities, including our Sunday morning gatherings, has been difficult for all of us. Meeting together every week, and in some cases, multiple times a week is something we all look forward to and helps us stay connected to our Lord Jesus Christ.

STAYING HOME is the best decision for our church family at this time to keep everyone safe and well. We hope that this week’s Holy Week Connect resource will bring comfort and connectedness. There are meetings scheduled that you can join on your phone or laptop computer. If you do not have a computer (as this letter is being sent to several), please call me and I will bring you a device to use.

Be encouraged! The Lord is at work in very direct and amazing ways. His love and timing is being magnified even as I write this letter to you. Since the church building and activities have closed, for the time being, we’ve provided a multitude of ways to stay connected. If you do not know who your FBCS Family “buddy” is, please call me and I’ll make sure you’re partnered.

Thank you for growing in your committment to Jesus during this time. I know the learning curve has been steep. Pastor Adam has been very helpful to our church and I hope you will reach out to him and say “thank you”! We are still getting the hang of providing worship and edification online and through letter-writing, but be encouraged that the gospel of Jesus will not return void. Isaiah 55 tells us, “just as rain and snow fall from heaven and do not return without watering the earth, making it bud and sprout, and providing seed to sow and food to eat, so My word that proceeds from My mouth will not return to Me empty, but it will accomplish what I please, and it will prosper where I send it. You will indeed go out with joy and be led forth in peace; the mountains and hills will burst into song before you, and all the trees of the field will clap their hands”. Our online services attendance has increased by up to 20-40 people on Sunday morning and even upwards of 400 for one service throughout the following week.

I hope to talk with you on the phone this week. Please be sure to click on the various links through-out the Holy Week Connect page. There are new tools to try, including an online tithe option. If you need help understanding these new tools, please let us know and we will help.

Yours in Christ,

Pastor Benjamin Payne
