Announcements: Building faith one block at a time. This four-week Sunday School class might be just what’s needed for back-to-school pressure. Kori Morgan will be exploring Minecraft-themed games, videos, and Bible lessons that will help build your student’s faith.

FBCS is a part of an association of churches called the Akron Area Association of ABWMAmerican Baptist Churches.  On August 19th,  the women’s ministry will be hosting a Day of Spiritual Renewal at Faith Fellowship Church in Stow.  9:30am Registration, 10:00am Program: Jodi Matthews from Urban Vision, afternoon workshops in the activities of the association with lunch provided. Contact Joyce Crislip for information or if you would like to attend.

IMG_20170805_162915_343FBCS is collecting School Supplies for Cloverleaf Elementary again year.  Let’s fill up the East Room with their requests!  We are now collecting no. 2 lead pencils, 24-ct. crayons, child scissors, broad and narrow markers, glue and glue sticks. Bring items to church before August 31st.

 

 

 

 


Leadership

On Saturday, August 12th, from 8-Noon there will be a Leadership Development Retreat.  If you’re a Sunday School Teacher, Group Facilitator, Trustee, Music Volunteer, or serving on a team at FBCS please plan on attending.  Food will be provided.  Please see Kimberly for questions.


Rev. David Dodridge passed away early on July 13, 2017 at his home surrounded by family. He served his entire life in ministry in American Baptist Churches of Ohio congregations. Most recently he served as a Pastoral Care ARM in Northwestern and North Central associations, encouraging and praying for pastors and their families.

Dave and his wife, Teresa, served the Lord for over 54 years at several churches in Ohio that included, Perry Chapel Baptist Church, Ostrander Baptist Church, Seville First Baptist Church, Newport Baptist Church, Brandon Baptist Church and Clear Fork Baptist Church.  He also served as an interim Pastor at Clark Township Baptist Church and Liberty Concord Baptist Church.  Dave was a member of the Gem and Mineral Club in Akron and in his spare time he enjoyed fishing, hunting and making jewelry.
