Good morning, Church! Welcome to the first day of the rest of your life! Some cliche’, huh?But it is true! It’s supposed to be a beautiful day, weather wise. How about your life? Is it a beautiful life, spiritual wise? The Lenten Season is an appropriate time to take inventory of your spiritual life. Really; don’t put it off any longer! There is a spiritual urgency about this first day of the rest of your life. Take the risk of being searchable and knowable. Invite the Holy Spirit to perform His spiritual examination. Honestly, you may not like it; but you will not regret it. I pray that today’s Lenten Scripture readings and prayer will encourage you to do so: Psalm 102, 108; Exodus 2:23–3:15; I Corinthians 13:1-13; Mark 9:14-29. “Loving God of forgiveness, I come before You humbled and sad in the face of my own repeated failings. I hold out my hands as a petitioner would, asking for mercy. It is then that I feel You reach out and take my hand in Your loving grasp. Thank You for the love You pour out on me so lavishly. Help me to follow more closely in the path You have set for me, the path of Your Son. In Jesus’ faithful name I pray. Amen.” Is your hand reaching out? Nice! Do you feel His tender and firm grasp? Beautiful! Just like today; but totally different because His grasp will never end. Thanks for journeying; Blessings to all–PT.
