Lent, Day 21: Tuesday, March 1, 2016

Good morning, Church! Hey, today, March 1, is the second “special day” in a row. Welcome to the first day of “meteorological spring!” WHAT, you ask? Well, I just report the facts, Ma’am. Astronomically speaking, Spring does not begin until Sunday, March 20; but meteorologically speaking, I’m so glad that Spring has sprung. WHAT, you ask again? Like I said, “I just report the . . . .” YIKES, I’m really uncomfortable going any farther because I am way out of my league; so, if you are really interested in the details, go ahead and do the “Google thing.” Spiritually speaking (now that’s where I am comfortable), March 1 is also a “special day.” We find ourselves in the “middle” of the Lenten season, and we are one day closer to celebrating the reality of Jesus’ death, burial, and resurrection; the very essence of the Gospel. So, let’s allow the Scripture readings and the Lenten prayer speak to our hearts: Psalm 78; Genesis 45:1-15; I Corinthians 7:32-40; Mark 6:1-13. “God of infinite love, I thank You for this reminder of Your love and Your call that we be more patient, gentle and compassionate with others. Here in the middle of Lent, I turn to You to beg for Your help. Please soften my heart. Help me to let go of judging others. I ask You this in Jesus’ name. Amen.” Spiritually speaking, I can’t wait for Sunday, March 27, 2016!! This year, that’s the REALLY SPECIAL DAY. Please consider joining the FBC family for Easter worship. Our schedule is: Sunrise Service, 7:30; Easter Breakfast, 8:15; Sunday School, 9:30; Morning Worship, 10:30. I would LOVE to meet you. Thanks for journeying; Blessings to all–PT.
