Lent, Day 11: Saturday, February 20, 2016

Good morning, Church! Where did all the snow go?? And what is that large, yellowish ball in the blue sky?? It looks as if Spring is “right around the corner;” and with Spring, the spiritual principle of RENEWAL faces us every morning. Isn’t that what Lent is all about–a spiritual season of self-sacrifice that not only reminds us of our mortality but also prepares us for spiritual renewal based upon the death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ? So, let’s continue our Lenten journey. Today’s Scripture readings are: Psalm 138, 139; Genesis 41:1-13; I Corinthians 4:1-7; Mark 2:23–3:6. Today’s Lenten prayer is: “Loving God, Sometimes my heart turns in every direction except towards You. Please help me to turn my heart toward You, to gaze upon You in trust and to seek Your kingdom with all of my heart. Soften my hardened heart so that I might love others as a way to glorify and worship You. Grant me this with the ever-present guidance of Your spirit. In Jesus’ magnificent name I pray. Amen.” I pray that you will thoroughly enjoy today and the beautiful weather the Lord has given us by His grace. Oh, but please; do not wash your car–you know what that means, right?! Thanks for journeying; Blessings to all–PT.
