Lent, Day 8: Wednesday, February 17, 2016

lent

Good morning, Church! I think I see a bit of sunshine peeking out from among the overcast! Can you believe that the forecast high for Saturday is near 60!! Oh, my; what extremes. I pray that our Lenten devotions are helping you stay away from spiritual extremes, and are encouraging you to experience a spiritual balance that glorifies the Lord of Glory. Today’s Scripture readings are: Psalm 49, 53; Genesis 37:25-36; I Corinthians 2:1-13; Mark 1:29-45. Today’s Lenten prayer is: “Dear Lord, I know You receive what is in my heart. Let me be inspired by Your words and by the actions of Your Son, Jesus. Guide me to make sacrifices this Lent in the spirit of self-denial and with greater attention to You and to those around me. Help me to believe that You will grant me this because of the sacrifice Jesus made for me. In Jesus’ sacrificial name I pray. Amen.”  One week gone; a little over five weeks left. I pray you’ll stay with us. Thanks for journeying; Blessings to all–PT.
