Lent, Day 6: Monday, February 15, 2016

lent

Good morning, Church! Are you suffering from “Love Overload?” I really like chocolates; but, man, do they give me a massive headache hours after I have enjoyed them. OK, I confess; that’s because I consume three times as many as I should. That’s one reason why I am so grateful no matter how much of God’s love I consume, it does not result in any physical discomfort. How about you? Can I get a hearty, AMEN?! Here are a few other spiritual items that will not result in aches and pains. Today’s Lenten Bible readings are: Psalm 41, 44; Genesis 37:1-11; I Corinthians 1:1-19; Mark 1:1-13. Our Lenten prayer for today is: “Loving God, You call us back to You with all of our hearts. I feel Your call for me deep in my heart, and I know You want me back as much as I want to return. Please, Lord, give me the wisdom to know how to return. Make my journey back to You this Lent one of grace, forgiveness and gentle love.” In Jesus’ inviting name, I pray. Amen.” Remember–banks and Post Offices are closed for President’s Day; however, the Lord’s inviting call, and His welcoming presence, are NEVER CLOSED. Thanks for journeying; Blessings to all–PT.
